Uh-oh, I Think I'm Pregnant!

Last Monday i embarked on intermittent fasting, eating only one big meal in the evening. I continued until Wednesday and by then i'd lost 2kg (4.4lbs).

I stopped when i realised that i was getting extra hungry, especially early in the mornings (3-4am). I also just recently started going to the toilet to pee like 3 or 4 times during the night. I'm now four days late for my period and i've just figured out that i might just be pregnant!

What it means for me is that i've to be extra careful if i'm going to embark on any diet. I'm getting a pregnancy test today, just to be sure. If i really am pregnant, then my whole diet changes altogether.

My results will be available later on in the day and i'll know what to do then.

Back On My Feet!

A lot has happened in my life since my last post. I got engaged and eventually married. I also got pregnant and had a miscarriage on the 17th of November last year at 11 weeks. <p>I'm back on my feet now and things have started happening now! I've just landed the leading role in a local TV series, started shooting Friday. I weigh 97kg (213lbs) right now and i do want to lose a lot of weight (about 60lbs).<br></p>

<p>My goal is losing between 11lbs to 22lbs (5-10kg) per month. I'm not so much of an exercise person so i'll concentrate more on eating right and just walking.</p>
<p>I've done intermittent fasting (IF) before and it has done wonders. IF involves eating one meal in a day. You eat nothing for 18 hours and eat all you want in the remaining 6 hours. I'll explain more on it in my next post.</p>
<p>I also intend to jog everyday in the morning. I'm not so much of an exercise person so for now, jogging is enough. </p>
<p>I'm a Coca-Cola addict and yesterday i came accross a post on the horrible things that it can do to your body so i'm going to try quitting it (one step at a time!). I'll share the post here, again in another post.</p>
<p>I've got my husband's support and that's all i need right now.</p>

Day 7 Fruits & Veg Diet

Last day was ok, problem-free. I couldn't wait to finish and get it over and done with. In all of my impatience, i still did things the right way.

I had a combination of fruits and vegetables and my daily 3l of water. Overally, the day went well. I went to bad anxious because i just couldn't wait to get on the scale and weigh myself, find out how well i had done.

I did weigh the next morning and i wasn't as pleased because i wanted to lose 5kg but instead i lost 4 (8.8lbs). That wasn't my target but at least it's something. Time to regroup!!!

Day 6 Fruits & Veg Diet

I feel very light! And my stomach is not bloated anymore. I refuse to weigh myself though because i want to be surprised when i finally do so after day 7.

I'm used to drinking large amounts of water now and i'm having my 3l though i don't think i still should be drinking that much because obviously i have lost a bit of weight, but anyway, i'll just continue till last day of diet.

Also, sleeping at night has become a pleasure now. No heavy, painful breathing at night anymore! I could do this forever!

Day 5 Fruits & Veg Diet

Not much to write about here. I think my body has finally adjusted to this new "lifestyle". My friend says i should never call it a diet, but rather a "lifestyle change". She says the moment your brain registers that it's a diet, it will work against you and you will find the diet difficult to do or stay on.

I had 3l of water which went down well. The headaches are gone for now, don't know if they will come again or not, but for now i'm alright.

Day 4 Fruits & Veg Diet

I had a good night's sleep last night. Didn't experience breathing problems at all so yes, it must've been dehydration that was causing the pain at night.

I had trouble drinking water today because i was busy running around, drank only a litre. Sweets came around and we played a few games of cards and finally took a walk. The weather was very hot today (summer is almost here) but the walk was very refreshing.

Today i had a mixture of both fruits and vegetables. Didn't experience any hunger pains at all but i felt a bit dehydrated. Off to bed now and i promise to make up for less water tomorrow.

Day 3 Fruits & Veg Diet

Been a rough day for me. I had serious hunger pains all morning and a very severe headache.

I decided on salad in the morning but the pain wouldn't go away. I ended up having plain rice for lunch. I did feel much better after that.

Had salad again for supper and managed to drink my 3.1l of water.

Day 2 Fruits and Veg Diet

Day 2 has been easy. I managed to drink 3.2l of water. I had to normal BM and i noticed that my shit wasn't stinking as much.

One thing that's bothering me, though, is that i'm still finding it difficult to breath at night. My nostrils become so dry that it becomes so painful with each breath i take, and i breath heavily so much that i make noise. Before i started drinking water normally again, i used to think that it was probably due to dehydration but now i'm just not sure what it is anymore. I have to sleep with a bottle of water beside me so that i can drink during the night to make the pain go away. I hate making numerous trips to the toilet at night but i don't have much of a choice right now.

Other than that, all is well. Slept like a baby and walk up feeling very light.

Surviving Day 1

I downloaded Libra Weight Tracker just to keep my weight in check and i must say it works quite well. What it does is, it keeps a record of your weight, it tells you how much you must lose per week in-order to achieve your goal, it reminds you to weigh yourself each morning and it also shows you your BMI. Below is a sceencapture of my weight values since the 31st of July.

Yesterday, besides weighing, we also measured ourselves to keep track of our centimetres as well during this journey.

Arm: 37cm 30cm
Thigh: 72cm 62cm

I also downloaded Water Your Body for Android to help me with my water intake. The application will tell you how much water you are supposed to drink per day according to your weight. It also reminds you to drink water each our until you've had exactly what you are supposed to drink per day. So as per my weight, i'm supposed to drink 3.1litres of water per day but i only managed to drink 2.5l because my body still has to adjust to that amount of water.

I survived on apples and carrots only. Apparently, i didn't do enough shopping for fruits, only managed to get apples, bananas and strawberries. I began experiencing a headache in the afternoon and it lasted all day.

I craved salty foods all day and each time i did, i would eat a carrot until the craving disappeared.

I went to bed early, around 9pm and i didn't have any trouble sleeping at all.

Last Monday when i weighed, i was at exactly 98kg. I've been jogging and eating smaller portions and i've since lost 2kg. As of today, the 12th of August 2013, i weigh 96kg.
